MANILA, Philippines – Chicago Bulls star guard Derrick Rose is set to return to the Philippines this year as part of the Adidas promotional D. Rose Tour.

The former NBA MVP makes a three-day visit in Manila from September 14 to 16, before touring other parts of Asia and Europe, the brand’s official statement said.

Rose’s second visit to the country is part of Adidas’ effort to “connect their partner athletes with fans, grow the game, and showcase the latest from Adidas Basketball.”

NBA icons like Minnesota Timberwolves’ guard Ricky Rubio, Washington Wizards’ John Wall, and Los Angeles Lakers’ center Dwight Howard, will also embark on a tour of other cities in the world.

Howard, meanwhile, is set to go on his seventh trip in Asia to visit the cities of Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Hangzhou, Chengdu and Beijing for his own D. Howard Tour.

According to Adidas, Rose’s stop here gives fans a chance to engage in activities like “basketball competitions, a party, meet and greet opportunities and social media campaign.”

This is the second time in three years that Rose has visited Manila – the last was in 2011 during the NBA lockout where he played in a pair of exhibition games here, along with other NBA stars.

Rose missed the entire 2012-2013 NBA season while recovering from a torn ACL.
