NCAA: Amer stars as San Beda routs Mapua

MANILA, Philippines — Defending champion San Beda cruised past Mapua, 78-53, in the NCAA Season 89 men’s basketball tournament Monday night at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Red Lions have now won three straight in dominating fashion after their one-point win over St. Benilde in the opener and a stunning loss to Lyceum in the second game of the season.

Guard Baser Amer displayed his all-around game with 17 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for San Beda, which is seeking its fourth straight championship.
