Pacquiao off to Macau

MANNY Pacquiao leaves today for Macau to kick off the promotional tour of his welterweight bout with Brandon Rios on Nov. 24 at Cotai Arena of The Venetian Macao Resort and Casino.

The former eight-division world champion will also watch countryman Milan Melindo gun for the World Boxing Organization and World Boxing Association flyweight crowns held by Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada tomorrow night.

Pacquiao and Rios, who arrived in the gambling mecca Thursday, will hold a press conference before the fight card headlined by two-time Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming’s fight with Mexican Jesus Ortega.

The Pacquiao-Rios press tour will also stop in Beijing on July 29, Shanghai on July 31, New York on Aug. 6 and Los Angeles on Aug. 8.

Melindo (29-0, 12 KOs) hopes to bring back to the country the twin titles Fil-Am Brian Viloria yielded to Estrada (24-2, 18 KOs) on April 6, also at Cotai Arena. Roy Luarca

Let the corner of Pacman stay humble and don’t make any prediction of a knockout. The last fight with Marquez saw the corner of Pacquiao warning Marquez of a knockout. It fell on Pacman instead.
