MANILA, Philippines—Smart Gilas Pilipinas trails South, Korea, 15-19 , at the end of the first period of their semifinal match Saturday in the 27th Fiba Asia men’s championships.

Kim Joo Sung led the Koreans with first quarter 11 points.

At stake is a chance to meet Iran in the title round on Sunday along with the assured two slots in the 2014 Fiba Basketball World Cup.
