MANILA, Philippines — University of the East center Charles Mammie and swingman Lord Casajeros were given two-game suspensions each by the UAAP for their unsportsmanlike actions in the Red Warriors’ double overtime loss to Far Eastern University last Sunday.

The league also slapped a one-game ban on De La Salle’s Thomas Torres after the point guard committed his second unsportsmanlike foul for hitting University of the Philippines’ Sam Marata during the Green Archers 85-63 rout Saturday.

“Tanggalin niyo na lang kaya kami sa uaap,” UE star Roi Sumang (@shejSUMS) posted on Twitter.

Mammie, suspended for the second time this season, and Casajeros will miss the Red Warriors’ crucial games against second-running National University and La Salle.

Torres, on the other hand, won’t be available when the Archers clash with fierce rival Ateneo Blue Eagles on September 1.

I think it’s not helping our athletes to be meted with such penalty. One game will be enough to teach them good lessons. The tweet of Sumang is not helping the situation. He should also be reprimanded. These are young students, they should be taught, not punished like the professional players.

    2 games suspension? TOO HARSH!!
Romeo stepped on foot of rushing Mamie, unintentional due to momentum.. kita sa kamera na iniwasan nya yung tao, pero huli na yun paa nya sa pagpreno, pagbagsak ni Romeo, aksidente na naapakan yung paa ni Mamie.. but it goes to show that it was a clear acting job.. even got to win the game for FEU.

As for Casajeros, it looks intentional.

They might have done unsportsmanlike foul but 2 games suspension is too much!

UE should file a petition to lessen this to 1.

Commisioner Loyzaga should be fair and square para hindi mukhang may pinapanigan.
NU player that caused Jeric Teng’s injury just slapped with a warning.. how can you take a look back on that. tsk tsk tsk….

One player causes another player to sit out several games because of an injury that was so maliciously caused…and gets a simple warning. Now this. Something’s rotten in the state of the UAAP.

may niluluto so comm. loyzaga. gusto nya papasukin ang admu.
