PSC: Recent Pinoy achievers to get cash incentives

The Philippine Sports Commission will hand out cash incentives to outstanding athletes from recent international competitions—including the millionaire members of the Gilas Pilipinas national five, who will get P1 million for finishing second in the Fiba Asia Championship here early this month.

PSC officials added that Asian Youth Games medalists led by champions Pauline Lopez (taekwondo) and Mia Legaspi (golf) will also get their cash rewards.

Also included in the list of outstanding athletes are the winners in the recent Asian junior wushu championships, Putra Cup and other regional competitions.

However, PSC officials have yet to officially release the breakdown of the cash incentives.

PSC executive director Guillermo Iroy said the awarding will be held tomorrow at the PSC canteen inside Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. Marc Anthony Reyes
