UST, La Salle continue dominance in UAAP taekwondo

MANILA, Philippines — Powerhouse squads University of Santo Tomas and La Salle stayed unscathed in the men’s and women’s divisions of the ongoing UAAP season 76 taekwondo tournament.
The Growling Tigers, who seeking their third straight crown drubbed National University, 6-1, to extend their perfect run to three matches.
La Salle also totes a 3-0 card in men’s play, though, as the Green Archers hacked out a similar 6-1 victory over the Bulldogs.
The two-peat seeking Lady Archers likewise stretched their streak to three with an easy 7-0 blanking of Ateneo.
But UST also went 3-0 as the Tigresses dealt the Lady Eagles a 5-2 defeat.
University of the Philippines, meanwhile, kept in step with the leaders in the distaff side with a 5-2 decision of NU for a 2-1 card.
The Lady Eagles went down to 1-2, while the Lady Bulldogs remained winless in three outings.
In the other men’s match, University of the East eked out a 4-3 triumph over winless Far Eastern University to score its maiden triumph in the tournament.
