Donaire-D’chinyan rematch set Nov. 9

/ 01:15 AM September 20, 2013

Nonito Donaire Jr., has vowed to destroy Vic Darchin-yan once more with feeling.

Both fighters are on a comeback trail after meeting six years ago when the Filipino broke into the limelight after knocking the Armenian-American in the fifth round of their world flyweight title fight in Connecticut.

Donaire and Darchinyan meet Wednesday in the press conference of their belated rematch, this time as featherweights, on Nov. 9 at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Darchinyan (39-5-1 with 28 knockouts) told that he will avenge his defeat to Donaire (31-2, 20 KOs).

“Six years ago nobody knew about him,” the 37-year-old Darchinyan said of Donaire. “I made him, I’m gonna break him.”

Donaire lost his world titles in April when he bowed to Guillermo Rigondeaux by decision in New York.
