MANILA, Philippines — Adamson regained supremacy in the UAAP women’s beach volleyball after beating University of Santo Tomas for the season 76 crown on Friday.

Lady Falcons’ Sheila Pineda and Amanda Villanueva swept the Tigresses’ Maru Banaticla and Pam Lastimosa with a 21-23, 21-17, 15-9 win in game two at the University of the East-Caloocan Sandcourt.

Adamson won in game one, 20-22, 21-19, 16-14.

“We just trusted each other. We always talked” said the veteran Pineda, who also was named the Most Valuable Player of the competition, in Filipino.

It was the third overall title of the Lady Falcons in the beach volley competition as they ended the two-year reign of the Tigresses.

Far Eastern University’s Kyla Atienza, meanwhile, bagged the Rookie-of-the-year plum.
