La Salle coaches off to San Antonio, begin team buildup
LA SALLE’S buildup for next season has kicked off just a week after capturing the UAAP men’s basketball championship.
Coach Juno Sauler, along with deputies Allan Caidic and Jun Limpot, will leave on Sunday to observe the San Antonio Spurs, last season’s NBA Western Conference champion, in a 10-day training session in Texas.
“I’m open to anything,” said Sauler. “There’s nothing really that I can pinpoint that I want to learn. If there’s anything that I can pick up, it will be more than helpful.”
Article continues after this advertisementIn the first week of November, Sauler and his staff will leave for Sydney for a weeklong sports session at Homebush Bay, the venue of the 2000 Olympics.
The Green Archers disposed of the University of Santo Tomas Tigers in a Game 3 Finals overtime thriller, 71-69, to cap a terrific turnaround this season where they won 11 of their last 12 games.
