Naascu caging: AMA Titans sweep St. Clare Saints

MANILA—AMA Computer University swept St. Clare College-Caloocan in three divisions in the Naascu basketball  tournament at the UM gym in Gastambide, Manila, over the weekend.

Mark Mangalindan fired 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Titans downed the Saints, 72-66, for their second victory in four matches in the men’s division.

The Titans, mentored by Jhune Glosinda, also drew 14 markers from Raymark Matias and 10 points each from Mac Avellana and Jonathan Ibarra.

In juniors action, Ermido Discipulo, Jefferson Arceo and Michael Favis powered the Young Titans past the Baby Saints, 80-74.

Discipulo fired 21 points, while  Arceo and Favis teamed up for 25 markers.

The Lady Titans, banking on Alejandra Sarmiento, Rachelle Esperancilla and Neriza Valle, completed the sweep over the Lady Saints, 71-61, for their first win.

Mati Gil shot 19 points to pace the Saints, who absorbed their third loss in four outings.
