Dionisia Pacquiao snarls at BIR over son’s tax issue
MANILA, Philippines—Even the strongest fighter has that powerful mother.
Dionisia Pacquiao, mother of eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, has laid down the mother’s gauntlet on the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
“Why are you focusing all your efforts on my son?” Dionisia said angrily on a regional network show. “Why don’t they turn their efforts on those corrupt politicians?”
This followed after the BIR held her son’s bank account in the Philippines after the boxer allegedly evaded tax payments amounting to P2.2 billion.
Dionisia even threatened the BIR that their fate is on God’s hands.
“Their office, be it at the highest floors, will be put down when God casts His anger upon them.”
