Clippers’ Redick to miss 6-8 weeks with broken hand

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Clippers guard JJ Redick will be out six to eight weeks with a broken hand, the NBA team said Sunday before falling to Indiana 105-100.
Redick, one of the Clippers’ best shooters, broke a small bone in his right hand and tore a ligament in his elbow in the second quarter of a 104-98 overtime win at Sacramento on Friday.
The Clippers acquired the veteran sharp-shooter from Milwaukee in a three-team off-season trade.
He was averaging a career-best 15.8 points along with 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists through his first 17 games with Los Angeles.
The Clippers, leaders of the Pacific Division, had won four straight going into Sunday’s game.
But Paul George scored 27 points and David West added 24 points with 12 rebounds to lead the Pacers to victory.
Roy Hibbert chipped in 19 points, while George Hill scored 11 for the Pacers, who handed the Clippers just their second home defeat of the season.
Jamal Crawford led six Clippers players in double figures with 20 points off the bench and Chris Paul finished with 17 points and 10 assists in the defeat.
The Clippers erased a 10-point deficit to tie the game at 94-94 in the fourth quarter.
But the Pacers responded with a three-point play from Hill.
Los Angeles, trailing 102-100, had a chance to tie the game, but Indiana came up with multiple offensive rebounds in the final minute to seal their league-leading 16th victory of the season.
