PBA semifinals post high ratings on TV5

MANILA, Philippines — The PBA fever is heating up as shown by the increased crowd attendance and the record-breaking ratings the PLDT Homes DSL PBA Philippine Cup semifinals series between Barangay Ginebra and San Mig Coffee is posting on TV5.

Viewership peaked last Jan. 31 when Game 2 posted the highest rating for the PBA for a non-Finals game, based on data from Nielsen Media Research.

With 19,279 fans in attendance at Smart Araneta Coliseum for that playdate, the game—won by Ginebra, 93-64—at its peak averaged about 3.2 million viewers, or 15 percent higher than GMA in NUTAM.
