Pirelli backs Superbike series

MANILA, Philippines –Filipino riders are in for more record-setting runs with Italy’s Pirelli tires backing the Superbike Championships series starting this April at Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario town.

“Superbike is our territory, so it sounds natural for us to be here,” Pirelli Asia Pacific manager Tierri Corte said in a press conference yesterday at Legend Restaurant in Pasay City.

“We worked very well in Sepang, Malaysia, and we saw the Philippines as a good opportunity. The racing activities are organized. We expect the riders to break records.”

FDR tires will also back the Philippine Scooter Racing Series and the Underbone King Championships at BRC.

“We’ll try our best to serve the riders and the race track the best we can,” said Philip Ang of Pirelli distributor Performance Parts Corp.
