Casas, Tabuena hurdle Tour’s halfway cut

CHA-AM, Hua Hin, Thailand—The in-form Cassius Casas and young Miguel Tabuena advanced to the last two rounds of the Asian Tour’s Qualifying School Final Stage Thursday.

Casas, winner of the rich The Country Club Invitational last week, tied for 16th with a 139 total after rounds of 71-68 while Tabuena posted a 70-71 for 141.

Failing to make the cut pegged at 1-under were Mark Fernando (69-74), James Ryan Lam (68-75), Carl Santos-Ocampo (73-74), Gerald Rosales (74-77), Edward Reyes (78-76) and Michael Bibat (78-77). The top 40 and ties after four rounds will earn Tour cards for 2014. Asian Tour News
