LSGH completes MYBall twin-title romp vs Ateneo

La Salle Green Hills made it two in a row as the Greenies completed a double championship for the second straight season in the Growee-MYBall Metro Invitational last Tuesday at Marist School gym in Marikina.

The Greenies triumphed in a pair of winner-take-all title duels as they clobbered the Blue Eaglets, 75-59, in the Contender division (12-14 age group) before nipping the same rival, 59-54, in the Mini division (9-11 age group).

Luccio del Rosario pumped in a game-high 24 points in the Contender match to power the Greenies in a second-quarter breakaway where they outscored the Blue Eaglets, 24-11, for a double-digit edge, 35-24, at the break.

Del Rosario, who copped the Finals MVP plum, dropped 13 points, including three triples in the second period.

Finals MVP Nico Saubier scored 12 points for the Greenies in the Mini finals.

The Blue Eaglets forged the knockout games after upsetting the erstwhile unbeaten Greenies in the Contender, 78-74, and Mini, 65-61, finals last week. Jasmine W. Payo
