World Boxing Organization (WBO)– Established in 1988, it is an international sanctioning body that has created in the last decade many regional titles that allow fighters an opportunity to bag a championship title and reach world-class stature.

World Boxing Council (WBC)–It was founded in 1963 by 11 countries (USA, Argentina, England, France, Mexico, Philippines, Panama, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, and Brazil) to unify world committees in boxing, after the sport reached countries influenced by Americans or Britons.

World Boxing Association (WBA)–It was born as National Boxing Association (NBA) in 1921 in Rhode Island as a regulator of boxing bouts in the United States. But as soon as it gained recognition around the world, NBA changed into WBA in 1962 to give “professional boxing its universal value.”

International Boxing Federation (IBF)–It was formed in 1976 as United States Boxing Association to serve as a springboard to the World Boxing Association (WBA), one of two international sanctioning bodies at the time, for its American boxers. It created an international division in 1983 and changed its name to IBF a year later.
