Jason Choachoy and Allan Uy emerged as the fasters drivers in the Vios Cup races at Clark International Speedway last Saturday.
Choachoy topped the first race while Uy ruled the second to each bag the P75,000 winner’s price in the competition that also gathered celebrities and motoring media.
Luis Gono finished second in Race 1, while Uy wound up third in the first race held in the searing heat. Gono pocketed P50,000, while Uy picked up P25,000.
In the second race held at sunset, all three jostled for position again over 12 laps with Uy ruling the roost followed by Choachoy and Gono.
The race, designed to spark interest in local racing, was organized by Toyota Motor Philippines led by president Michinobu Sugata, who graced the day-long event that included a mini concert, car show and drifting exhibition.
Among the celebrities who saw action in the races were model and actress Phoem Barranda, who finished 14th in the first race, and actor Dominic Ochoa who placed eighth in the Open division.
Actress Rhian Ramos, DJ Sam YG, sportscaster Jinno Rufino, and model Fabio Ide also competed. Marc Anthony Reyes
