NU, Ateneo favored over Shakey’s V-League opening foes

Even minus its top scorer, National University hopes to get its campaign off to a strong start against University of the Philippines in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Open Conference today, Sunday, at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Bulldogs face the Lady Maroons at 2 p.m. minus last conference’s MVP Dindin Santiago, who will suit up for debuting PLDT Home Telpad.

Ateneo will have a full roster as Alyssa Valdez headlines the Lady Eagles anew versus Philippine National Police at the 4.

Amy Ahomiro, the Kiwi spiker who shone in the Lady Eagles’ UAAP title run last season, teams up with Valdez again along with Aerieal Patnongon, Michelle Morente, Ella de Jesus, and new recruits Bea de Leon and Therese Gaston.

Although the Lady Eagles are favored for their scoring prowess, the PNP Lady Patrollers hope to step up on the defensive end behind the leadership of Ana Concepcion and Michelle Datuin.
