DILG tops inter-agency volley
THE DEPARTMENT of the Interior and Local Government wrested the volleyball crown in the 3rd Inter-Government Agency Female Sportsfest held recently at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Coached by Ney Mateo, the DILG team made up of Ellen Mahinay, Joy Campomanes, Leslie Polistico, Mors Ali, Olie Contreras, Ria Platon, Grace Alejandrino, Merle Reyes, Edna Aragon, Rose Ellen Jimeno, Maricor Dyandante, Tanya Gonzales and Aisa Tanada grabbed the title over DPWH and DFA, which placed second and third, respectively.
The other champions were Philippine Sports Commission in badminton, the Department of Health in table tennis and DPWH in bowling.
Shuttlers Zeny Rollon, Ella Andaquig, Lita Agustin, Pedia Abalos, Charlene Cabigan and Tina Garcia, with coach Roy Cortel, ruled badmintod for PSC after beating DPWH and DOTC in the finals.
The tablenet plum went to DOH through employees Krystelle Mabagos and Maribel Yusores. DOTC placed second with DTI and DPWH sharing third spot.
Yeng Mance, Lydia Barsolaso, Nina Maniaul, Chit Villar and Mary Lonzanida combined to clinch the bowling title for DPWH.
