14th Naascu season opens Tuesday

DEFENDING champion Centro Escolar U and and last year’s runner-up St. Clare clash today to kick off the 14th season of the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (Naascu) men’s basketball tournament at Makati Coliseum.

CEU and St. Clare collide at 11:30 a.m. in the opening match. City University of Pasay and New Era U tangle in the curtain-raiser at 8 a.m. before the league formally opens with the inaugural rites at 10 a.m.  Fatima battles Rizal Technological in the last match at 1 p.m.

Joining the league this season are Diliman Computer Technology Institute  and Philippine Christian University.
“We can say that we are at par with the best collegiate leagues in the country,” said Naascu chair Dr. Ernest Jay Adalem of St. Clare.
