Domingo, Ang take Asian karting pole
BOBBY Domingo of Formula-E Racing and Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement claimed the pole positions for today’s Pre-Finals of the 2014 Petron Asian Karting Open Championships at Carmona Racetrack in Cavite.
Domingo, who posted the fastest lap time of 43.422 seconds, topped the consolidated qualifying heats results to capture the pole position in the premiere Formula 125 Open Seniors class.
Macau ace Joao de Jesus Afonso of CKS Racing Team will be second on the grid with Kart Plaza Motorsports Racing Team’s Vrei-AR Suba in the No. 3 spot.
Ang, the son of San Miguel Corp. president Ramon S. Ang, will lead the cast in the Formula 125 Open Juniors after posting a fastest lap time of 43.735 with Seaoil-DC karter Gabriel Tayao Cabrera, who clocked 44.164 seconds, second on the grid.
