Bombers try to boost Final 4 bid vs Generals

By |

Jose Rizal U seeks to stay in the thick of the battle for a Final Four spot against an inconsistent Emilio Aguinaldo College today even as Mapua and San Sebastian look to end their woes in the 90th NCAA basketball tournament.

The Heavy Bombers and the Generals take the floor at 2 p.m. at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan with JRU hoping to keep in step with Perpetual Help and St. Benilde, which share third spot with identical 7-4 records.

The Stags are attempting to end the longest losing skid this season in the 4 p.m. duel with the Cardinals.

San Sebastian, which has reached the finals three times in the last five seasons, has lost seven straight games.

The Cardinals are also desperate for a win with their 1-10 record putting them in danger of missing out on the Final Four again this season.

Interestingly, the Cardinals’ lone victory came at the expense of the Stags, 89-80, in their first round battle last month. That win ended a six game slide for the Cardinals.
