Rey Briones’ Spartans is UFCC champ

Three-time World Slasher Cup winner Rey Briones of the Thunderbird team was half a point shy of a perfect score but it was enough to grab the 2014 Ultimate Fighting Cock Championships (UFCC) One-Day 6-Stag Derby crown at Smart Araneta Coliseum last Monday.

After seeing multiple champions in the previous legs, Briones was solo winner in the UFCC Red Group second leg tussle.

Solo runner-up honors went to the 5-pointer Blue Blade RJM entry of engineer Sonny Lagon, also of the Thunderbird team.

Briones’ Spartans Grego entry fielded Spartans Gamefarm’s signature Spartans Black, Spartans Red and Spartans Hatch crosses, conditioned by handler Rene Boy of Masbate, in the stagfest being staged in cooperation with Thunderbird Platinum, Thunderbird Bexan XP, Resorts World–Manila and Solaire Resort & Casino,.

Those with 4.5 points are AAO of Gerry Ramos, Eboy of Eddie Boy Villanueva, Sr. Pedro Knights of Cong. Peter Unabia, N.U. Redhawk of Nelson Uy, and Sagupaan Pasay Oct. 24 of Rep. Patrick Antonio.
