PSL leader Petron ousts Mane ‘N Tail

PETRON needed a little push to secure a 25-16, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23 triumph that eliminated Mane ‘N Tail yesterday in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix volleyball presented by Asics at Muntinlupa Sports complex.

After the Lady Stallions tied the game by stealing the second set, the Blaze Spikers went on attack mode and improved their league-best women’s record to 8-1.

Mane ‘N Tail bowed out of the Final Four race with a 3-7 record.

The Lady Stallions mounted a desperate comeback in the fourth set to take a 16-11 lead but  the Blaze Spikers raised their game a notch to seal the outcome.

Petron coach George Pascua credited his team’s resolve in the face of their opponents’ determined stand.

In the second women’s match, Generika stopped RC Cola-Air Force, 25-15, 25-21, 15-25, 25-21, for its fifth straight victory.
