Two outstanding guards banner this season’s Mythical Five in the 2014 Collegiate Basketball Awards.

UAAP Most Valuable Player Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo and NCAA MVP Earl Scottie Thompson of Perpetual Help—who both flashed fantastic all-around games this year—earned key spots in the collegiate top five of the annual event presented by the UAAP-NCAA Press Corps and Smart.

Joining the standout pair are La Salle’s Jeron Teng, Far Eastern University’s Mac Belo and San Beda’s Ola Adeogun.

Ravena, who led the Blue Eagles back to the Final Four, amassed the highest statistical points in the UAAP the past decade to emerge as the runaway MVP winner.

Thompson also had a stellar year with the Altas, landing in the top 10 of every statistical category to power the Altas to the NCAA semifinals for the third straight season.

Two other UAAP standouts shone as Belo played his best collegiate season yet to lift the Tamaraws to the UAAP Finals, while Teng reprised his leadership role with the Green Archers.

Adeogun, meanwhile, came out dominant anew in the Red Lions’ fifth straight NCAA championship run.
