HONG KONG—Satisfactory but not exemplary.

That was how Manny Pacquiao assessed his performance against Chris Algieri on Sunday at Cotai Arena of the The Venetian Macao.

“If I rate myself, I’ll give myself a 7,” Pacquiao said in Filipino at the masters bedroom of his suite before his departure for General Santos City on Monday.

“I’m satisfied with what I did. However, I felt I could have done better had Algieri not run.”

Algieri virtually abandoned his quest for the World Boxing Organization welterweight crown after getting the feel of Pacquiao’s punches in the early rounds.

Against the inexperienced Algieri, Pacquiao’s dazzling performance was enough.

Against Floyd Mayweather Jr., however, Pacquiao’s feels he should raise the bar to the limit.

“I need to be at 9 or 10,” said Pacquiao, who believes the speed and power that gave him world titles in eight divisions are back.

Still, Pacquiao believes he has to do more plyometrics training to prepare for Mayweather.

After bringing Algieri to school and decking him six times en route to the landslide points decision, Pacquiao again challenged Mayweather to a fight next year.

He said the fans deserve the long-awaited fight which has all the potentials of shattering boxing records in pay-per-view, gate receipts and attendance.

If the fight pushes through, Pacquiao believes it will happen not only once as the contract will have a rematch clause.

“There could be more coming,” said Pacquiao, who added he’s willing to give in to Mayweather’s myriad demands.

Mayweather can have the bigger share of the proceeds, choose the weight limit and even set the blood test protocol.
