NU tossers bag NCR title
National University foiled University of Santo Tomas, 25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, to rule the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League NCR leg at Ynares Sports Arena last Sunday.
The Lady Bullpups, led by Most Valuable Player Faith Nisperos, advanced to the League of Champions set Jan. 11 to 16, also at Ynares Arena.
Nisperos also took the best middle blocker honors while teammates Rica Diolan was best setter award, Kristine Magallanes won best libero honors and Jasmin Nabor took the best opposite spiker plum.
Hope’s scoring leader Justine Dorog took the best outside spiker title, UST’s Ejiya Laure was named second best outside spiker, while UST’s Pauline Gaston bagged the second best middle block honors in the event also by Cebu Daily News.
Teams from New Zealand, Australia, US and Bangladesh will also join the League of Champions.
