Immonen-Morris upends Reyes-Bustamante in MP Cup

GENERAL SANTOS CITY—Mika Immonen and Rodney Morris overpowered Efren “Bata” Reyes and Francisco “Django” Bustamante, 9-4, last night to barge into the last 16 of the MP (Manny Pacquiao) Cup Philippine Open 10-Ball doubles championship at SM City Mall here. Also advancing were defending champions Jeffrey de Luna and Jeffrey Ignacio, who bested Napoleon Labrador and Reynaldo Lariba, and Carlo Biado and Anthony Raga who routed Lee Van Corteza and Jericho Banares, both by 9-4 scores. Taiwan’s Ko Pin-yi and Ko Pin-chung ousted the tandem of Thorsten Hohmann and John Morra, 9-6.
