Global seals semis duel with Ceres

Reigning UFL titlist Global rolled to a 9-0 romp over Erco-Bro of Cebu Tuesday night to set up a semifinal duel with Ceres-La Salle in the PFF Smart Club Championship at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Powered by Izo El Habbib’s five goals, Global showed no mercy against the regional qualifiers in clinching top spot in Group B.

The showdown with Ceres is set at 7 tonight with Global looking to end a string of losses against the Bacolod side. Ceres has won the last four meetings against Global, including the finals of the same event in December 2013 and the FA League Cup last November.

Stallion clashes with Group A top seed Loyola Meralco in the other semifinal pairing after the Iloilo side dumped M’lang, 10-1, for the second semifinal berth in Group B.

Skipper Ruben Doctora scored three first half goals as Stallion cruised to victory.
