Sante Barley duathlon gets going Feb. 15

MANILA, Philippines—Duathletes and cyclists go through a unique three-in-one racing event in the Sante Barley Domination on Feb. 15 at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

Top Filipino duathlete Robeno Javier leads the local racers in the Pure Barley Duathlon, which features a 4K run-40K bike-4K run distance.

Spain’s Eneko Elosegui is expected to challenge Javier in the male elite category, while Mary Pauline Fornea, Aria Crawford and Francesca Diane Gutierrez are among the early favorites in the female elite.

Cyclists also fight for the top prize in the Whey Barley Criterium, which starts at 9 a.m. and lasts for 45 minutes and one lap, and the Barley Pure Time Trial, which covers a 30K distance.

FEATURED STORIES

The race features the Advance (Cat 2), Intermediate (Cat 3) and Novice (Cat 4) categories for the male riders and the Open class for the female contenders.

Race kit pick up starts at 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 for duathletes and on race day for cyclists.
