Only God can say if we’ll sweep La Salle, says Ateneo’s Valdez
MANILA, Philippines—When Ateneo and La Salle meet up once more for their second dance in the UAAP Season 77 Women’s Volleyball Finals, the Lady Eagles have the opportunity to claim their second straight title.
Team captain Alyssa Valdez, however, doesn’t want to think it that way.
“We can’t say,” Valdez said after Ateneo took the opener over La Salle Wednesday at Smart Araneta Coliseum. “On Saturday, we play our hearts.”
“It’s up to Him. We’ll never know.”
Ateneo beat La Salle convincingly 25-18, 25-19, 25-19 in the first game of the Finals.

Game two is on Saturday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Ateneo team manager Tony Boy Liao believes the Lady Eagles can finish the Lady Spikers off on Saturday.
“If they believe that they can do it, they can do it,” Liao said. “Right now they’re gonna go for it.”
