Top Nueva Ecija cocker rules Battle of Champs
TEAM Nueva Ecija, represented by veteran gamefowl breeder Ben Cruz, topped the NFGB Battle of Champions 6-Bullstag Derby Thursday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Cruz, a founding member of Gamefowl Breeders of Nueva Ecija and the 2014 GBONE Breeder of the Year, posted a perfect 6-0 record to outclass 34 other participants.
Andrew Mendoza of Tarlac and Raul Gamboa of Pampanga shared runner-up honors with five points each.

Those with four points were Nilo Ladrino, Charles Evangelista, Alan Moreno, Freddie Jose, Dr. Marco Lazutas, Cano Daniel, Team GPGBI and Sonny Lagon.
Meanwhile, the NFGB Hari Ng Rueda 8-Cock Derby is dangling a guaranteed prize of P10 million. Entry fee is P11,000.
