8th Mindanao Chairman’s Cup listing on
MANILA, Philippines—Registration for the 8th Mindanao Chairman’s Cup has started, with organizers opening just 100 slots for the two-day team championships set at Apo Golf and Rancho Palos Verdes courses in Davao.
The event, held to promote Davao as the finest golfing destination in Mindanao, will be played on July 18 and 19 with all teams seeing action in both championship courses.
Trophies in four divisions will be at stake, with teams having an average handicap of 0-9 falling in the centerpiece Eagle Division, named after the facility that breeds the Philippine Eagle in Davao.
Each team will be composed of five players with only the top four scorers counting.
Scoring will be modified Stableford with double bogey equivalent to one point. Bogeys count for two, pars three, birdies four, aces five, eagles six and double eagles seven.
The other divisions are Durian (10-15 handicap) and Pomelo and Durian for the higher handicapped teams.
Entry fee is pegged at P25,000 per team and will entitle each player to practice rounds at Apo Golf and Palos Verdes.
