Angelo Que fired a six-under-par 66 Friday and caught Miguel Tabuena at the top of the ICTSI Manila Masters at Eastridge in Binangonan, Rizal, sealing the duo’s final-flight shootout for the second straight tournament.

Que opened the third round with four straight birdies and finished off a 31-35 round birdie-birdie for a 209 total, putting him in position to get back at Tabuena after the youthful pro ruled the Splendido Classic in Tagaytay exactly a week ago.

Tabuena, the defending champion, bounced back from a second-round 73 with a 69 and stayed on course for a back-to-back romp that has not happened on tour before.

Second-round leader Clyde Mondilla had a double bogey and two doubles on the front nine on the way to a 73 and slipped three shots off the pace like Japan’s Toru Nakajima, who fired a 69 for 212.

Antonio Lascuña, the three-time Order of Merit winner, again didn’t gain any ground despite shooting a 71, as he trailed the leaders by five at 214, in a tie with former amateur hotshot Ferdie Aunzo, who carded a 73.

Que, whose last victory came in the 2010 Selangor Masters on the Asian Tour, had five birdies going out and eight overall, but dropped shots on Nos. 11 and 16.
