Arellano University was as hot as summer as they nuked Polytechnic University of the Philippines, 112-77, to open the Fr. Martin Cup Sunday morning at San Beda Gym.

It was still a game near the end of the first half as the two were tied at 45-45, but the Chiefs went on a 9-1 blitz to end the half at 55-46 which ultimately swung the momentum to Arellano.
