THE BATTLE for the last outright slot in the semifinals intensifies as teams behind runaway leader Petron mix it up to improve their respective rankings today in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference at Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
Shopinas (4-3) and Philips Gold (4-4), the closest pursuers to the leaders, clash with Cignal (1-6) and Foton (3-4), respectively.
Petron dangles its 8-0 slate at 2:30 p.m. against Mane ‘n Tail (2-5), the only team to force the Blaze Spikers to a five-setter so far.
Shopinas faces Cignal at 6:30 p.m. after the 4:30 clash between Philips Gold and Foton.
The Blaze Spikers are assured of a semifinal slot even they lose all their remaining games in the eliminations.
The top two teams at the end of the double-round eliminations will automatically make it to the semifinals.
