Watanabe targets 3rd Superbikes crown

DEFENDING Superbikes champion Dashi Watanabe guns for a third straight crown as the motorsports season kicks off with the Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series, FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championship Series and FDR Underbone King Championship Series Sunday at Batangas Racing Circuit.

Watanabe will renew his rivalry with Ducati rider Raniel Resuello while Masato Fernando and John Emerson will try to keep their scooter and underbone titles, respectively.

Also scheduled are the side events Ducati Cup, Shell Advance Moto IR and Pirelli Motorad Superbikes Cup.

John Defensor likewise seeks another Superbikes Masters crown as he hopes to steer Ducati PH to a sweep along with teammates Toti Alberto and Charles Nolasco.

The next leg is slated May 23 and 24, also at BRC.
