Petecio, Fernandez in President’s Cup finals

PALEMBANG, Indonesia—Two Filipino boxers made it to the finals of the 22nd President’s Cup at Palembang Center here.  Nesthy Petecio stamped her class over Japanese Shimoto Aya for a unanimous decision win and set up a championship match with Thai  Paemwilat Laopeam.  Air Force man Mario Fernandez of Bukidnon also displayed ring mastery against NGS Jayawira of Sri Lanka and will next face Tsenbataar of Mongolia.  Joel Bacho lost to Mongolian Chin Zorig in the semifinals and settled for bronze.
