Petron overpowers Shopinas to claim Philippine Super Liga crown

Petron overpowered Shopinas, 25-17, 22-25, 30-28, 25-17, for a second Philippine Super Liga title Thursday evening at Cuneta Astrodome.
The Blaze Lady Spikers showed utter dominance from the regular season to the championship as they went an unblemished 13-0 on the way to the title.
Dindin Santiago Manabat took the set from Mary Grace Masangkay and turned it into a smooth, championship-clinching runner for the stacked Blaze Lady Spikers.
A team error from the Clickers proved too costly for them as it handed put Petron at match point, 24-17.
Manabat and Aby Maraño led Petron with 18 points apiece while Rachel Anne Daquis and Frances Molina combined for 25.
Cha Cruz led the felled Clickers, who shocked Petron in the second set, with 13 points while Riza Mandapat and Stephanie Mercado had 12 and 11 points respectively. CC
