UFC Fight Night Manila: Makashvili trumps Eddiva

With the crowd jeering him on, Levan Makashvili continued to take down hometown hero Mark Eddiva to take a split decision win in their featherweight match in UFC Fight Night Manila Saturday evening at Mall of Asia Arena.

Makashvili negated Eddiva’s fast-paced striking with continuous takedowns while using the cage to get the 29-28, 28-29, 30-27 split decision and improve to 10-1.

Eddiva, meanwhile, fell to a 6-2 record.

Makshvili used his takedowns to land quality punches while on the ground.

Towards the end of the fight, Makashvili scored a massive takedown as he pounced on the winded Eddiva.
