Luzvimin golf: Southwoods out for title repeat

MANILA Southwoods sets out as the top favorite as it guns for back-to-back titles in the centerpiece Diamond division of the 23rd Champion Infinity Luzvimin Golf Championship, which gets going today at Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Davao City.

Behind Annika Cedo, Sunshine Baraquiel, Sofia Chabon and Sophia Blanco, the Carmona-based Southwoods bets ruled last year’s event by 48 points at Pueblo de Oro course in Cagayan de Oro.

Other fancied teams in the division featuring players with handicaps of 2 to 7 are Del Monte, Rancho Palos Verdes and Tagaytay Highlands.

Manila Southwoods’ Legends heads the field in the Emerald division (8-14), Villamor looms as the favorite in the Ruby division (15-20) and Palos Verdes is fancied to top the Pearl division (21-plus) in the annual event organized by Women’s Golf Association of the Philippines .
