Pingris decries Star’s ‘lack of effort’ after Alaska thrashing

Game One saw Alaska taking back the game after falling big early.
No comeback was needed in Game 2. Alaska plainly embarrassed the Star Hotshots.

For Hotshots forward Marc Pingris, their 95-74 Game Two loss against Alaska showed how much the Aces wanted the 2-0 series lead.
“They were hungry, they showed they were better defenders than us,” Pingris said Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“We lacked the effort.”

Star’s “lack of effort” was evident especially in the rebounding department as Alaska grabbed 49 rebounds as opposed to the Hotshots’ 32.
Scoring was also a representation of the Hotshots’ fallout.
Star only scored 33 points in the second half, 16 in the fourth, while Alaska had 48.
“We seemed to lack the will when fourth quarter came,” Pingris said as he finished with seven points and seven rebounds.
“We lacked discipline, everyone wanted to do things on his own. The ball wasn’t moving, even I did that at some point, ‘give me the ball I’ll do it.'”
