As far as La Salle is concerned, it was not invited to join the Shakey’s V-League.

In a report on Spin.ph, coach Ramil de Jesus finally broke his silence on the Lady Spikers’ decision of not playing in the collegiate conference, saying there wasn’t really any formal invitation given by the organizers and they were actually “banned for life” from joining the volleyball tournament.

“Wala namang invitation. Walang black-and-white na dumating sa office. Even yung director namin, wala namang nababanggit,” the multi-titled coach said. “Dati naman kami kasali dyan. Pero sila yung nagsasabi na hindi kami kasali dahil banned for life daw kami dyan.”

De Jesus said that that La Salle was banned after pulling out in the last minute in one of the previous conferences, but the coach cleared that the decision to do so was due to the Lady Spikers incurring numerous injuries, deeming them unable to field in a competitive squad.

He also said that after that incident, all La Salle wanted was a public apology from V-League organizer Sports Vision.

“Actually, sinabi ko lang na mag-public apology. Yun ang hinihingi ng mga managers namin noon, pero hindi naman nila ginawa (Actually, I asked them to give us a public apology. That’s what the managers want then, but they didn’t do it.),” said De Jesus.

Earlier reports stated that La Salle would be a part of the 12th season of the V-League, set to start on July 11, but the management led by De Jesus reportedly opted to back out from the collegiate conference.
