Marc Pingris officially begs off from Gilas

Marc Pingris finally showed up in the Gilas Pilipinas practices on Saturday.

However, his appearance came with a bad news as the energetic forward told head coach Tab Baldwin of his intention to sit out the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship.
“Naintindihan naman ni coach yung rason ko. Mahal ko talaga yung Gilas kaso may nga bagay na di natin kontrol,” said Pingris.

(Coach understood me. I love Gilas but there’s just some things that are beyond our control.)

In tears as he explained his side to Baldwin, Pingris stayed for almost an hour in Meralco Gym before leaving.

Aside from Baldwin, Pingris also talked to a handful of his Gilas teammates like Gary David, Jayson Castro, and Gilas captain Jimmy Alapag. CFC
