Semis-bound Ateneo nears quarters sweep after win over FEU

Ateneo inched closer to a quarterfinals sweep following a 25-19. 25-14, 25-18 win over Far Eastern University in the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference Saturday at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The semifinals-bound Lady Eagles leaned on a balanced effort led by Alyssa Valdez’s 15 points.

Jho Maraguinot posted 11 points with three service aces while Amy Ahomiro added nine points.

Guest player Jovelyn Gonzaga carried the Lady Tamaraws with 11 points as Bernadeth Pons scored only five points.

FEU, which fell to 4-2, had no solution for Ateneo’s attacks especially after failing to record a single block.
