Ladon stuns Mexican foe in front of Pacquiao
DOHA—With superstar Manny Pacquiao in the gallery, Filipino pug Rogen Ladon stunned the top ranked Joselito Velasquez Altamirano of Mexico with a unanimous decision victory on Thursday in the Aiba World Championships.
Ladon, the 21-year-old pride of Bago City, received scores of 30-27 from all three judges.

Pacquiao arrived to a tumultuous welcome as guest of Aiba at Hamad Al Attiwa Arena here.
“I couldn’t believe he (Pacquiao) was watching me fight,” said Ladon. “I couldn’t let him down.”
At a dinner tendered for him by Aiba president Wu Ching-kuo, Pacquiao said he would give P500,000 to Ladon or the other Filipino competitor, Eumir Felix Marcial, if they win the gold in the tournament.
