Letran veteran forward Kevin Racal has apologized for his racist comments on San Beda’s Nigerian center Ola Adeogun.

Racal on Saturday wrote a lengthy apology on Facebook for his racial slur, saying he only got carried away with his emotions.

“I don’t mean what I said to him, nadala lang ng emosyon at humihingi ako ng kapatawaran para sa aking mga nasabi (I was just carried away with my emotions and I’m asking for forgiveness for everything that I said),” the post addressed to Adeogun, the Letran and San Beda Community read.

“Again to Ola and to his family, I’m sorry sa mga nasabi ko, tao lang din at nasasaktan (I’m only human and I get hurt too). Wishing you the best on your career, hope to see you soon and say my apologies to you personally. Godbless!

Reacting to a video of Adeogun supposedly hitting him in the head during one play in game 3 of the NCAA finals, Racal posted a comment where he called Adeogun a “stinky monkey” in Filipino.

“They were already losing so that’s why he started hitting,” Racal also said in the Facebook comment.

While the comment was eventually deleted, a screengrab of it immediately went viral.

Racal was instrumental in the Knights’ run to the NCAA championship, churning out solid numbers in all of three games including a 23-point performance in the decider.
