Safeguard 5i50 Triathlon fires off in Bohol Sunday

10:35 PM November 03, 2015

Triathletes take their act to Bohol province on Sunday for the Safeguard for Men 5i50 Triathlon, the record-breaking, season-ending endurance race blasting off in Panglao and Dauis.

A new high of 750 competitors will answer the starting gun in the 1.5-kilometer swim-40K bike-10K run event sponsored by Safeguard for Men and dubbed as “tri-cation” for combining triathlon and vacation in the land of the famous Chocolate Hills and the tarsier, the world’s second smallest primate.

This year’s field easily surpassed the 650 turnout last year.

Filipino Elite triathletes Banjo Norte, Paul Jumamil, August Benedicto, Claire Adorna, Kim Mangrobang, Jenny Guerrero and LC Langit also signed up for the event, the local version of the world’s largest Olympic distance triathlon series.
